Beef Tallow

$11.95

Make any steak even better by cooking it in beef tallow.

Tallow is the hard beef fat located on the inside of the steer. Once rendered, it becomes a versatile, high-smoke point fat that’s a great alternative to seed oils. Plus, it adds an extra bit of beefy flavor to any recipe.

Before you can use the beef tallow you need to render it. Rendering is a clarifying process that evaporates water and impurities from the fat to make it shelf stable. To render beef tallow, cut it into small cubes then melt the hunks in a pot over medium heat. It will bubble as the water evaporates out of the fat. Once the melted fat has stopped bubbling, it’s rendered and ready for use.

We recommend using beef tallow as your go-to cooking fat. The high-smoke point makes it perfect for steaks and chops. It won’t burn, even when you are searing that perfect ribeye on high heat! Tallow is also a great cooking fat for roasting potatoes or other farm fresh vegetables.

Each package of Rangeland Revival beef tallow weighs 1.5 pounds which is enough for cooking for months!
